St Bart’s Multi Academy Trust

Julie Rowlandson, St Bart’s Sustainability Manager, supported the West Midlands regional hub launch event by running a session on the importance of networking for sustainability. Since then, she has facilitated networking with Climate Ambassadors and education settings to share best practice.

The children designed a set of St Bart’s sustainability superheroes to help them share the important messages about climate change and sustainability in a child friendly way.

In my opinion, the role of climate ambassador, is summed up by the following quote. ‘If we achieve our sustainability targets and no one else follows, we will have failed.’ (Paul Polman)

Getting started is really daunting, with so much information out there, it can feel overwhelming. As a climate ambassador, I believe that it is important to support a school / sustainability lead at the point they are at, and at the beginning of the journey, reassure them that it is OK to start small, focus on one area and do it well.
