Climate Ambassadors:

Embedding climate action where it matters most

“We decided that it would be useful for our Climate Ambassador to support the Greenwich Community School Partnership, rather than just our school. David, our Climate Ambassador, led the session and it was aimed at supporting sustainability lead colleagues to work through the needs of their schools and produce a climate action plan. It was such a useful experience and built confidence amongst the group. The best thing about the support we have received is that we he is clearly not working to a script but is adept at coaching us to think about the needs of of our specific schools. We didn’t produce one plan that was replicated across 18 schools; each of us really had the space to bring out ideas about our own establishments.”

If you want to go into schools and colleges to give talks, if you want to help education settings learn more about places they can find great resources, or you want to help the places and people in our education system become greener and more sustainable. So, if you want to make a difference, become a Climate Ambassador.”

“What’s really special about Climate Ambassadors is it’s flexible. It can really fit the shape that the community needs it to be. We took some of the advice around creating a climate action plan, and looked at it through the lens of place. We live in Morecombe Bay, which is really ecologically important, so we made sure that it’s something really useful to our community.”
