Oil-heated settings: Book FREE support today

Early years settings, schools and colleges using oil to heat their buildings could face higher energy costs as temperatures drop. This autumn and winter, education settings using oil heating systems in England are receiving FREE government-funded support to reduce energy costs and cut emissions.

Support for oil-heated settings is commissioned by the DfE, provided by the Climate Ambassadors programme run by the University of Reading and EAUC, and delivered in partnership with Let’s Go Zero.  If your setting is not oil-heated, support is widely available year-round.

Oil-heated settings are able to participate in the project in one of two ways:

• An in-person visit
• A 90-minute online workshop

Either option is accompanied by ongoing support and results in your setting creating a tailored climate action plan that will provide the strategic roadmap to:

• combat rising energy costs
• make your buildings more resilient, efficient and better adapted to a changing climate
• encourage pupil personal development
• increase community wellbeing, curriculum development and so much more

Complete the Let’s Go Zero’s sign-up form below. This is the standard sign-up form for settings across England — you don’t need to specify you’re an oil-heated setting when registering.

An in-person visit from one of the Let’s Go Zero Climate Action Advisors alongside Climate Ambassadors, who spend the day speaking to senior leaders, staff, site team and pupils to understand the specifics of your context and identify quick wins. We can also deliver pupil workshops or staff CPD on the day to ensure the nursery, school or college community is engaged in this work.

We will look around your site and with your support, review your energy consumption and spends. Following this, you will receive a Sustainability Report and climate action plan for your setting, full of impactful and practical actions to reduce those costs and energy wastage.

A 90-minute workshop by Let’s Go Zero and Climate Ambassadors to create your bespoke climate action plan to help your school, college or nursery save costs and reduce its energy use. Our expert advisors support you to tailor the plan to suit your setting and share examples of impactful yet practical actions that other settings have completed, resulting in significant savings.
